What's Not Included
The following items are not included in your package unless arranged in advance:
- International and domestic flights
- Transportation to and from Kalima Lodge (unless pre-arranged)
- Visa costs (if required by your country of residence)
- Beverages outside of coffee, tea, and water
- Hotel accommodation before or after your safari (unless arranged as part of your itinerary)
- Meals and drinks at external restaurants
- Personal shopping trips and excursions into town
- Personal expenses, including souvenirs and optional purchases
- Staff gratuities
- Activities outside of the confirmed itinerary unless pre-booked
- Camera equipment rental

Your Safety
At Kalima Safaris, your safety is a top priority. We take all reasonable precautions to ensure you feel secure, well cared for, and supported throughout your journey, while still allowing you to experience the authentic beauty of South Africa’s wildlife and landscapes.
All tours are led by experienced local guides and travel coordinators with in-depth knowledge of the wildlife, terrain, and destinations visited.
Wildlife & Ethical Viewing
Wildlife is naturally unpredictable. We do not pressure or disturb animals for sightings or photography. If any wildlife shows signs of stress or discomfort due to our presence, we immediately adjust or relocate to ensure minimal disturbance. Respect for wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation principles is maintained at all times.
Travel & Activity Safety
All safaris and tours are conducted using suitable, well-maintained vehicles and are guided by trained professionals familiar with each region. Guests are required to follow all safety instructions provided by guides or staff during safaris, excursions, and transfers.
Movement in Wildlife Areas
When visiting national parks, reserves, or natural environments, guests must remain within designated areas and adhere to all park regulations and safety guidelines. Wildlife encounters are part of the natural experience and must always be treated with caution and respect.
Evening & Night Safety
During lodge stays and certain safari activities, wildlife activity increases after dark and visibility is reduced. For safety reasons, movement outside accommodation or designated safe areas must always follow guidance from staff or guides.
Guest Responsibility
Participation in safari and travel experiences involves natural environmental risks associated with wildlife and outdoor conditions. Guests are responsible for following all safety instructions and guidelines provided throughout their journey.
Health & Travel Recommendation
We strongly recommend that all guests travel with comprehensive travel insurance that includes medical coverage and emergency assistance. Emergency procedures and support systems are in place should they be required during your trip.

Terms and Conditions
1. Bookings & Confirmation
All bookings are only confirmed once a deposit has been received. The remaining balance must be paid in full before arrival or within the agreed payment terms. Prices are subject to change until a booking has been confirmed.
2. Cancellations & Refunds
Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellation fees may apply depending on the time of cancellation prior to arrival. No refunds will be issued for early departures or any unused services, including meals or activities.
3. Inclusions & Exclusions
Each safari package includes specific services as outlined in your official booking confirmation and itinerary. Only items listed as included in your confirmed package are applicable.
4. Travel Insurance
All guests are strongly advised to have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, cancellation, personal belongings, and travel disruptions. Kalima Safaris cannot be held responsible for costs arising from lack of insurance.
5. Safety & Liability
Participation in all activities and entry onto safari property is at your own risk. While all reasonable precautions are taken to ensure guest safety, Kalima Safaris, its owners, and staff accept no liability for injury, loss, damage, or delays arising from circumstances beyond our control, unless caused by proven negligence.
Wildlife, reptiles, insects, and natural environments are unpredictable and must be treated with caution at all times.
6. Wildlife & Guest Conduct
Guests must not approach, feed, or disturb any wildlife. All instructions provided by guides and staff must be followed at all times.
Kalima Safaris reserves the right to refuse service or remove any guest who behaves in a disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful manner, without refund.
7. Children & Supervision
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
8. Accommodation & Activities
Accommodation, routes, and activities may be adjusted or substituted with equivalent options due to weather conditions, availability, or operational requirements.
Certain game drives and experiences are exclusive to Kalima Safaris Lodge, while external destinations or third-party activities may incur additional costs.
9. Transport & Transfers
Transfers are only included where specifically stated in your package. Kalima Safaris is not responsible for delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by third-party transport providers or airlines.
10. Photography & Media
Kalima Safaris may use photographs or video content taken during guest experiences for marketing purposes unless a written request for exclusion is received prior to travel.
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will fall under South African jurisdiction.
